Arriving from the airport
Copenhagen Airport is very close to the centre. No need for a taxi or a booking.
Metro or train: both take about 15 minutes
| Mode | Destination | Journey time | Frequency |
|---|---|---|---|
| Metro M2 | Kongens Nytorv, Nørreport | about 15 min to Nørreport | every 4 to 6 min during the day and evening, less often at night |
| Train (Terminal 3, tracks 1 and 2) | Central Station, København H | about 15 min | check the departures board |
Fare: 30 DKK for a 3-zone ticket, valid for 1 h 30. At Kongens Nytorv, the M2 lets you change to lines M3 and M4.
Metro or train: which should you choose?
- The train if you are going to Central Station or Vesterbro: it is the most direct journey.
- The Metro for Kongens Nytorv, Nørreport and the rest of the network, changing at Kongens Nytorv for Østerbro, Nørrebro or Vesterbro.
- At night: the Metro runs all night, about every 20 minutes from Sunday to Thursday and every 8 minutes at weekends, from 01:00 to 07:00. For the last train, check Rejseplanen: no general timetable is published.
- With a lot of luggage: both stations are step-free. DSB trains limit luggage to 100 × 60 × 30 cm.
Where to buy your ticket
- On the Rejsebillet app, even before you board.
- At the airport ticket machines and the DSB counter in Terminal 3.
- On the Metro and train platforms, or at 7-Eleven shops.
You cannot buy a ticket on board the train.
Taxi
Expect to pay about 260 to 350 DKK to the centre, depending on traffic. This estimate comes from a third-party guide: ask for the fare before you get in.
Coming from Belgium
Brussels Airlines and SAS connect Brussels and Copenhagen, according to the flights shown by Copenhagen Airport in November 2026. By train, we found no direct service: the usual route goes via Cologne and Hamburg. Hamburg–Copenhagen takes at least 4 h 45 according to Deutsche Bahn, and no operator publishes the total journey time. Plan for a long day and check with SNCB.
