A rainy day

Four sheltered places, a stone’s throw from one another. The rain almost becomes an excuse.

From museum to market hall

  1. National Museum of Denmark — 2 h. From the Vikings to the present day: the story of Denmark, with the Trundholm Sun Chariot among its treasures.
  2. Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek — 1 h 45. Ancient sculpture, French Impressionists and a winter garden under a glass dome: the most charming museum in the city.
  3. Torvehallerne — 1 h. Two glass market halls devoted to good produce: fish, smørrebrød, coffee, cheeses and pastries.
  4. Round Tower (Rundetaarn) — 45 min. A 17th-century observatory reached not by a staircase, but by a spiral ramp.
Please noteThe National Museum of Denmark and Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek close on Mondays: choose another day for this route.
